Sofia woke up feeling excited. Today was a special day at D. Luís Mendonça Furtado School: her school!
She put on her favorite striped shirt and blue jeans, grabbed her backpack, and waved goodbye to Mom.
At school, Sofia greeted her teacher, Mr. Silva, who had a big smile and welcomed everyone.
Mr. Silva announced, 'Today, we're going to learn about plants!' The classroom buzzed with excitement.
First, Mr. Silva showed everyone a small seed. 'This is where a plant begins,' he said.
The children each got a seed and a pot filled with soil. Sofia held her seed gently between her fingers.
They dug small holes in the soil and placed their seeds inside. 'Now, they need water and sun,' explained Mr. Silva.
After planting, Sofia's friend João looked worried. 'What if my plant doesn't grow?' he whispered to Sofia.
Sofia smiled at him. 'We'll take care of them together. They'll grow!' she said.
Weeks went by, and Sofia's plant sprouted leaves. João's did too! They were both so proud.
The whole class learned about patience and care. Plants grew, just like the children's knowledge and friendship.
Sofia knew that every day was a chance to learn and grow, just like the seeds into plants at her school.
