Benny was a bubbly six-year-old boy with curly hair and a nose that twitched when he was excited. Today was his very first day at Bumblebee Elementary School.
Benny's backpack was packed with pencils, paints, and pink erasers. 'Benny, be brave,' said his mom with a warm hug. Can you believe Benny’s big day was finally here?
The bell rang loudly, 'DING-DONG-DING!' It echoed like a song, welcoming Benny along. To the classroom, he skipped with a hop and a bop!
Inside Class 1A, Benny found a seat. The teacher, Miss Whimsy, had twinkly eyes and a heart so sweet. 'Welcome, welcome, one and all! Let’s start with a roll call!'
Benny felt nervous like a critter in a shell, but Miss Whimsy’s voice was like a magical bell. 'Benny, dear Benny, tell us about you—what’s something special only you can do?'
Benny stood up tall with a gleam in his eye. 'I can wiggle my nose like a bunny, oh my!' The kids giggled and clapped, shouting, 'Hooray!' Benny knew it was going to be a good day.
In the playground, Benny met Sam and Sue, who loved to play and hop around, too. They played tag, hide-and-seek, and even climbed a tree—what a wonderful new world! Oh, what glee!
After lunch, it was story time! Benny sat on the mat, feeling just fine. Miss Whimsy read about a dragon and a knight—each word felt like glitter, making the room so bright.
Benny’s eyes twinkled like stars in the sky. The dragon roared 'ROAR!' and he couldn’t deny—it felt like a dream was coming alive. Oh, how stories could make one thrive!
When the final bell rang, it was the end of day one. Benny’s heart was full—it had been so much fun. 'Mom, guess what? School is cool! I can’t wait for tomorrow, it’s going to rule!'
Benny twirled and skipped on his way home, thinking of dragons and friends, of the stories he'd known. 'The world of school is a place to explore, with so many wonders and stories in store!'
So if you’re feeling nervous about your first day too, just think of Benny and what he can do. With friends, stories, and fun around—school is the best place to be found!
