Benny Bunny bounced out of bed, ready for the wonders that the first day of kindergarten would hold. He pulled on his blue overalls and hopped down the stairs.
Mommy Bunny smiled wide, 'Time to go, Benny!' She handed him a lunch box that was red and shiny. Benny felt a mix of giggles and jitters.
The schoolyard was bustling; it was as loud as a carnival! Benny’s nose twitched with excitement as he spotted other critters hopping, waddling, and skipping.
Miss Honey, the teacher, rang a little bell that went 'ding-a-ling!' 'Welcome, my friends,' she sang sweetly, 'To a world where we all belong!'
Benny sat next to Freddie the Frog and Daisy Duck. Freddie looked nervous, while Daisy was quacking with excitement. Benny smiled, hoping to make new friends.
'Let’s share a bit about ourselves,' said Miss Honey. Benny hopped up. 'I love to jump and run!' Freddie Ribbit-ed, 'I’m a fantastic thinker.' Daisy quacked, 'I adore reading.'
'Together we make a fun crew!' Miss Honey clapped her paws. 'Different we are, but friends we can be, just like birds flying in harmony!'
They played games, shared toys, and painted bright pictures. Benny noticed Freddie sharing crayons and Daisy teaching a song.
At snack time, Benny saw Freddie sitting alone. He bounded over and said, 'Mind if I join you?' Freddie’s eyes lit up, 'Of course not!'
'Kindergarten is grand as can be,' Benny thought with a grin. 'We’re all different critters, but the best kind of friends!'
With a hop, skip, and jump, Benny knew, he found a place where everyone could shine. 'Togetherness is the key,' he said, 'Like stars in a sky, we all twinkle so fine!'
As the school bell chimed at the end of the day, Benny and his new pals waved goodbye. They knew tomorrow would bring more fun, more games, and more tales.
