In a deep green forest in darkest Peru, a small bear was learning new words.
The bear's name was Paddington, and he was very curious about everything around him.
Every morning, Paddington practiced Spanish with his Aunt Lucy. 'Buenos días,' he would say.
In the afternoons, he learned English words from a kind explorer who visited.
Paddington loved to practice. 'Hello' and 'Hola' were his favorite greetings to use.
One day, Paddington found a lost hat. He knew someone must be missing it.
With new words, he asked around. '¿Alguien perdió un sombrero?' No one answered.
Then he tried in English, 'Has anyone lost a hat?' A tourist smiled with relief.
The tourist was happy and thanked Paddington. He was glad to understand both languages.
Paddington felt proud. His hard work had helped someone find their lost hat.
From that day on, Paddington was known as the helpful bilingual bear of the forest.
And in two languages, Paddington continued to make new friends and have new adventures.
