As they reached the river, Xiang Yu commanded his men to break their cooking pots and sink their boats. The soldiers were puzzled, as they had no way to retreat. They asked their general, 'Why are you destroying our only means of escape, General?'"
"Xiang Yu stared at his soldiers with determination in his eyes and said, 'We have no choice but to move forward and fight with all our might. Now that our retreat is cut off, our only path is victory.'" "The soldiers nodded, trusting their brave leader. What remained was an unbreakable spirit and unwavering resolve to fight until the end. This decision encouraged them to fight with every ounce of strength they had."
"News of Xiang Yu's daring act spread among the troops, and they fought even harder, knowing they had no other options. Despite being outnumbered, they fought ferociously. The Qin Army, taken aback by their enemy's determination and fearless attitude, was eventually defeated. Xiang Yu's army emerged victorious, freeing the people from the oppressive rule of the Qin Dynasty." Li Wei listened with wide eyes, imagining the fierce battles and the valiant soldiers. He asked, "Grandmother, did Xiang Yu's plan work because they had no other choice?"
His grandmother smiled and replied, "Yes, dear. Sometimes, when we believe in ourselves and push our limits, we can achieve great things.
