Buddy was a dog who loved to nap and chew. But he never played or shared his toys.
One sunny day, a new dog named Max moved in next door. Max loved to play fetch and run around.
Buddy watched Max play from his window. Max looked happy. Buddy felt a little lonely.
The next day, Max came over with a ball. 'Want to play fetch?' he barked with a wagging tail.
Buddy hesitated but remembered his loneliness. He decided to give it a try and took the ball.
Max showed Buddy how to play fetch. Buddy ran and ran. He had never felt so happy and free.
After playing, they were very hungry. Max shared his bones with Buddy. They chewed together.
Eating together was fun. Buddy realized sharing made eating twice as nice.
From that day on, Buddy played with Max every day. He loved fetch, running, and sharing his toys.
Buddy learned to be happy. Nap time was sweet, but playtime with friends was even sweeter.
Buddy became a good dog. No more bad dog days. He had a best friend in Max.
And when new dogs moved into the neighborhood, Buddy was the first to ask, 'Want to play fetch?'
