Once upon a time, in a sunny classroom, a girl named Mia sat watching a boy named Jack. Mia liked Jack because he always had a kind smile.
Every day, Mia tried to talk to Jack. Today, she got his attention when they were picking crayons, and he smiled at her.
Mia's heart fluttered like wings. She liked Jack more now. She wondered if he felt the same but was too shy to ask.
During recess, Mia and Jack played tag. She laughed, and he chased her around. Being friends was fun.
After tag, they sat to rest. Jack shared stories about his dog. Mia listened and wished the time wouldn't end.
Walking back to class, Mia felt brave. She gave Jack a small note. Her hands felt cold.
The note said, 'You're a good friend. Want to sit together at lunch?' Mia hoped he'd say yes.
Jack read the note and grinned. He nodded and said, 'Sure, Mia! That would be great.'
At lunch, they talked more. Mia found out Jack liked butterflies. She liked them too!
Days went by, and Mia and Jack became closer. Mia learned that sharing feelings can lead to wonderful friendships.
Mia was happy she had been brave. She and Jack were friends now, and it all started with a smile.
And while Mia still felt those fluttery feelings, she knew the most important thing was that Jack was her friend.
