Diego woke up to sunbeams dancing across his room. Today was the perfect day to go outside!
After breakfast, his Papa said, 'Let's have a picnic in the park, mijo!'
Diego's curly hair bounced as he nodded excitedly. A picnic with Papa was his favorite.
They packed sandwiches, apples, and tasty cookies into a basket, ready for their adventure.
At the park, Diego spread a blanket under a tall oak tree. 'This spot is perfect,' Papa agreed.
They munched quietly, watching the clouds drift by. Diego felt happy with the sun on his face.
Suddenly, the wind picked up. Diego's napkin danced away. 'Papa, let's fly the kite!' he exclaimed.
Papa and Diego ran, laughing as the kite soared. Up, up it went, like a bird in the sky!
But soon, the sky darkened.
They hurried to pack their basket as leaves rustled warningly. The park felt different now.
The first raindrops pattered down. Diego and Papa ran, threading through trees to their car.
Safely in the car, Diego smiled. 'What an adventure, Papa!' And they drove home, warm and dry.
