Today was Doofi's first day at Sunshine Elementary. He felt his tummy tumble and turn.

At breakfast, Doofi poked at his eggs. 'You will make new friends,' said his mother, smiling.

Doofi put on his favorite blue hat. It made him feel a bit braver.

At school, kids played on swings. Doofi's heart raced, but he approached them.

A girl with curly hair saw Doofi. 'Hi, I'm Annie! Want to play with us?'

Doofi nodded. The kids laughed as they played tag, and his nervousness melted away.

In class, Doofi drew a picture of the playground. His teacher smiled. 'Lovely drawing, Doofi!'

At lunch, Doofi shared his snacks with Annie. They giggled about silly things.

It was storytime. Doofi sat cross-legged, fascinated by tales of dragons and knights.

The bell rang, and kids scampered out. 'See you tomorrow, Doofi!' Annie waved.

Walking home, Doofi felt different. He felt like he belonged. He couldn't wait for tomorrow.

As the stars twinkled, Doofi fell asleep, dreaming of the adventures awaiting at school.
