The sun peeked through the curtains as Diana opened her eyes. Today was special; she was going to Camp Pinegrove for the first time. Her stomach fluttered with butterflies at the thought of all the new experiences awaiting her. Il sole fece capolino attraverso le tende mentre Diana apriva gli occhi. After a quick breakfast, Diana's mom helped her carry the duffle bag to the car. 'You'll have the best time,' her mom assured her with a warm hug. During the speech, Diana noticed a girl with bright red hair looking just as nervous as her. After the speech, she mustered up the courage to sit beside her. They found common ground in their love for swimming and decided to pair up for the upcoming relay race. Just like that, the seed of a new alliance was planted. The relay race was exhilarating. Cheering each other on, Diana and Zoe swam their hearts out. Though they didn't win, their spirits soared high with the effort they put in together. As the stars came out, the camp settled around a bonfire. Diana sat beside Zoe, both wrapped in blankets, exchanging stories and laughing freely.
