Whiskers the cat liked to nap in the sun. Her fur was warm and she purred softly.
Nearby, Barkley the dog watched curiously. 'Why do you sleep so much?' he woofed.
Whiskers yawned. 'It's what I do best. But I like to play too!'
Barkley wagged his tail. 'Let's play fetch!' He loved running and jumping.
The friends went outside. Whiskers was fast, but Barkley was faster.
They took turns chasing the ball. Sometimes Barkley let Whiskers win.
After the game, they were tired. They shared a drink from the bowl.
