In a tiny, cluttered cave lived Gordon the Goblin. He loved shiny things.
Gordon always grabbed gold and jewels from the villagers, making them sad.
One day, a little girl saw Gordon and frowned, 'Why do you take our things?'
Gordon grumbled, 'I want them! They sparkle and make me happy!'
But the girl shook her head, 'They don't seem to make you smile though.'
Gordon growled but paused, realizing he never did smile with his treasures.
'If you share, maybe you’ll find real joy,' the girl said with a gentle smile.
Reluctantly, Gordon gave a coin to the girl. To his surprise, she beamed with joy.
Seeing her smile, something warmed in Gordon's heart that no gold could match.
Gordon tried giving more. As he did, laughter and friendship filled his cave.
No longer did Gordon feel the need to grab and keep. He enjoyed giving.
The villagers no longer saw Gordon as greedy, but as a kind friend.
