Once upon a twinkling star, in a village not too far, lived an old man named Gus, who made no fuss.
In his old shabby house, with a creaky, squeaky mouse, Gus had a friend so dear, a goose named Goldie, standing near.
Goldie's feathers were soft and white, like fluffy clouds in the morning light. Each day she'd lay an egg, oh so bright!
With a clap and a snap, Gus would say, 'Hurray!' He'd take the egg to market and earn his pay.
Every clink, clank, and clatter, Gus would climb the hill, no matter. Through the pitter-patter of rain, Gus would never complain.
At the market, he'd shout, 'Look what I've got!' Folks gathered around, and each egg was sold on the spot.
Every night, like a lullaby, Gus would whisper goodbye. 'Goodnight, dear Goldie, you bring me glee. We’re as rich as can be!'
But one day, Goldie felt so blue, she laid no egg, out of the blue. Gus noticed her tears and said, 'Oh dear, what’s troubling you?'
'Dear friend,' he said with all his might, 'your happiness is my delight. Let’s find the magic to make everything right.'
With a wink and a twirl, Gus sang to the sky, 'Hope for Goldie, please don’t be shy!' Lo and behold, a miracle did fly by!
Goldie’s chuckle and gleam returned, an egg she laid that brightly burned. Gus exclaimed, 'You’re my precious friend, for whom my love will never end.'
And so, from that day until the end, Gus and Goldie, the best of friends, lived happily in the land of fairy tales and trends.
