In the happy town of NorthShore, where the sun smiles down on fluffy green hills, there lived a boy named Hauzer with bright eyes and a laugh that could make the flowers giggle. Hauzer loved riding high on his grandpa's shoulders, looking out at the world as if he was a little king.
One sunny afternoon, while Hauzer and Grandpa were walking by the blue lake, Grandpa said, 'Hauzer, you are growing up so fast, and it’s time you learn to swim. The water can be fun but it's also important to be safe.'
Hauzer frowned thinking swimming meant less time for games, but then Grandpa whispered a secret, 'Guess what? Swimming is an adventure, and I have a special fish friend who wants to meet you!' Hauzer’s frown turned upside down, and he was now excited.
The next day, Hauzer put on his red swim shorts, and with a splash, he jumped into the pool where his grandpa was waiting. 'I’ll be with you all the time,' said Grandpa with a smile as they started with fun games to kick and splash.
Hauzer was having so much fun that he almost didn't notice he was learning to swim. He imagined himself as a brave explorer, commanding the waves as he looked for Grandpa’s fish friend. 'I'm a sea captain on a treasure hunt!' he cheered.
As they played and swam, Grandpa showed Hauzer how to float, kick, and blow bubbles under water. 'Now, you're ready to meet my friend,' Grandpa said, and out from behind a rock in the shallow end, came a toy fish with a friendly face.
Hauzer and the toy fish swam races and went on make-believe adventures deep in the 'ocean' of the pool. When it was time to leave, Hauzer hugged his grandpa and said, 'Thank you for teaching me to swim. It’s like flying, but in water!'
