In a house on Hilltop Lane, twins Holden and Benson were having a festive birthday bash. But wait! The Cake Monster grumbled, rolling under the table. 'Where's Holden? Benson wondered, eyes wide open like saucers.
'Help me find him, before he misses the fun!' Hayden squeaked to Spiffy the Squirrel and Rocky the Raccoon. They sprang into action, as spritely as a fawn on a frolic.
'Is he in the attic, where the wind sings and dances?' Rocky wondered, nose twitching. They climbed up, ears perked like a rabbit’s, but alas, Holden wasn't there.
'Maybe he's in the garden!' Spiffy suggested, with a gleam in his eye. Off they zipped, as quick as a flash, bounding over the grassy knoll, only to find butterflies and bees, but no Holden under the willow tree.
They peeked into the kitchen, where pots clanged and sizzled like a jazzy band. 'Holden, where art thou Benson hollered. But only echoes answered, as quiet as snow falling.
Then rewind-the-clock to the playroom - toy soldiers marching, dolls whispering secrets, and a secret hideaway, where what did they find? A slight snore and breath rising up and down - Holden was under his bed cover, dreaming.
'Wake up, sleepyhead!' Hayden giggled, giving Holden a gentle nudge. 'The party is at its peak!' Holden opened his eyes, like bright stars from a while back stealthily unfurled.
Holden hopped up, as bright-eyed as a chipmunk. 'Did I miss the candles? Flip it, flap it, let's make it snappy!' Their friends cheered, 'Hooray!' as Holden joined the party, gifts and all.
The air was brimming with giggles and glee. Holden and Hayden were beaming, stronger than any dream team. Side by side, they unwrapped presents, their faces glowing like lanterns in a night sky.
And there, under the arch of balloons, they both looked around with hearts as full as the room, feeling invincible and loved. 'To many more birthdays, and never losing our way.'
With newfound gumption, they celebrated their grand return. For in finding Holden, Hayden found something too - a spark that would forever make him half of a glorious duo.
