Humphrey the Hedgehog, a prickly fellow indeed, harbored a heart not of quills, but of reeds!
He lived in a huff, in a tumbledown shed, convinced the whole world was better off dread.
"They snicker and sneer," he'd grumble and groan, "Those bumble-brained bunnies! That blubbering drone!"
Humphrey believed, with a grumpy old soul, that hating the world was his one true role.
But one day, a sound, like a sunshine-soaked breeze, trickled and twirled through the whispering trees.
It tickled his spines and it tingled his toes, and out of his heart, a melody rose!
"What's this?" he huffed, with a hesitant sigh, as a tune like a rainbow bloomed up to the sky.
The bunnies nearby, with ears perked up high, hopped closer and closer, their noses held high.
Humphrey, he trembled, expecting a jeer, but the bunnies, they swayed, their faces sincere.
The music swirled out, a whimsical dance, and Humphrey felt a joyful trance!
He played and he played, his heart light and free, and realized that joy was the only way to be!
The bunnies they hopped, and they bopped, and they swayed, as Humphrey's music brightened their day.
Humphrey learned that day, with a joyful little squeak, that happiness grows when we choose to be meek.
And so, he kept playing, his heart full of glee, sharing his music for all to see!
