Jacob woke up with a giggle and a grin. His big, round glasses sat snug on his nose, ready for another adventure. Today was the first day of school!
Jacob’s room was filled with colorful posters of dragons and pirates. The sun’s golden rays danced on his blue bedspread, making it look like the ocean waves.
"Time to go, Jacob!" called his mom. She gave him a big hug and a packed lunch, complete with a cookie as big as a pirate ship wheel. "Arrr you ready for school?" she joked.
Jacob’s backpack bounced along as he walked to school. It was green with blue stripes, just like his favorite dragon toy, Sparky.
At the big red school gate, Jacob met his friend Lily. She wore pink shoes that lit up when she skipped. "Let’s hop to it!" she giggled.
In Ms. Willow’s class, the walls were covered with stars and rainbows. Ms. Willow herself was as bustling as a busy bee. "Good morning, everyone! Let’s start with a song!"
Jacob and his classmates sang, "Twinkle, twinkle, little star! How I wonder what you are!" Their voices blended like a beautiful rainbow of sounds.
After the song, it was time for Show and Tell. Jacob’s heart thumped like a drum as he held up Sparky the dragon. "This is Sparky. He’s my brave dragon friend!"
Recess was wild and wonderful. Jacob and Lily played tag, running faster than rocket ships. "You can’t catch me!" Jacob laughed.
Back in class, Ms. Willow read a story about a wizard. Jacob closed his eyes, imagining himself casting spells and flying on broomsticks.
When the school bell rang, Jacob felt like he could float home on a cloud. "Today was magical," he told his mom. "I can’t wait for tomorrow!"
And so, Jacob’s heart filled with wonder, he drifted off to sleep, dreaming of dragons, pirates, and the adventures that awaited him at school.
