Once there was a little boy named James. He had bright eyes and loved to play.
When James was good, he was very, very good. He would share his toys and be kind to everyone.
One sunny morning, James helped Mom bake cookies. The sweet smell filled the house.
But when he was bad, he was atrocious. James did not listen and would frown a lot.
One day, James didn't want to share his toys. His friend Mia was very sad about it.
Seeing Mia's tears made James think. He didn't like feeling that he had hurt his friend.
James decided to be good again. He gave Mia the biggest truck and they played together.
When he was good, James noticed everyone smiled more. It made his heart warm and happy.
His teacher noticed too. 'James, you're doing great today!' she said with a big grin.
Yet, some days were harder. James felt the bad mood coming like a stormy cloud.
He remembered Mia's tears. 'No, I want to be good,' James said and chose to smile.
And so James learned every day we can choose. He wanted to be the boy who chose kindness.
His family were proud of him. 'Our James is growing up,' they said with love in their eyes.
