Once upon a time, there was a boy named James. It was Halloween night, and James decided to dress up as a pumpkin. He put on his orange suit and a big, round pumpkin mask that he made himself. He looked adorable!
Excited about his costume, James went out to trick-or-treat with his friends. As they walked through the dark woods, James accidentally got separated from the group. It was so dark, and he couldn't find his way back home.
James tried his best to find his way, but everywhere he looked, it seemed like he was going in circles. Suddenly, he heard a spooky noise. It was the sound of hooves pounding on the ground. James turned around and saw a figure riding a horse, but to his horror, the figure had no head! It was the Headless Horseman!
Terrified, James ran as fast as he could through the woods. He could feel the Headless Horseman getting closer and closer. Finally, he reached his cabin and quickly closed the door behind him. He was safe!
Late at night, when James' mother asked him why he was home so late, he didn't want to admit that he got lost. Instead, he made up a story about being chased by the Headless Horseman. He thought it would be more exciting.
But James' mother knew her son well. She could tell that he was lying. She smiled and said, 'James, it's always important to tell the truth. No matter what happens, we should never make up stories. Honesty is the best policy.' James felt bad for lying and promised his mother that he would always be honest from that day forward.
