John gave up everything for his friend Hannah. He confided in her and let her know all his secrets and adversity he was facing in life. They went on lots of walks, enjoyed drinking camel milk, Korean BBQ and many long talks where Hannah would tell him about the most challenging issues she was overcoming. They also loved going to parties together especially his friend's birthday and his Stanford dinner party he hosted. They were each other's most trusted, loyal confidantes from day one to the end.
When he went to New Zealand, he emailed her before and during his hiking vacation. He asked how she was doing in America. He really missed her beautiful heart, special smile, heart of gold and genuine care.
He wished they could visit each other, but she had moved away. He had a ton of college friends from his favorite dorm, but they paled in juxtaposition with Hannah and their special times. He just really missed her and would dream of the day she would visit him. That fueled him for two more months as he spent every last ounce of energy on his work and SF friends circle.
She accidentally ignored him without intending to. She was super busy with work, learning how to cook, her best friend Goliath the Frenchie, and her crazy schedule during admissions. Hannah had too much on her plate to juggle and was finding her sister a job at Google. She had absolutely no time for him. Hannah also had no inkling of his silent desperation, palpable despair, and degree of loneliness despite his tender care towards everyone including her.
After his heart was completely broken, he felt lonely. This was the final straw he thought to himself but he kept going because he never gave up previously. Persistence and goal-setting were his greatest characteristics. He assumed she would return so he tried to talk to her before it was too late.
He suffered more than ever before in his life. He was tormented by grief and loneliness in the new chapter of his life. Although he thought about self-harm he tried to exercise as much as possible to cheer himself up while waiting for Hannah. Then he tried calling Hannah and working as hard as possible in the electric fuel and climate change space to preserve the planet. He possessed an extreme love for humanity that he harnessed the final last months of his life. He waited for Hannah to return his emails and calls.
On July 4th, he passed away from heartbreak. It was the saddest day of Hannah's life and she cried for 5 days straight.
After John died, he was very sad but gradually evolved into Hannah's guardian angel. John talks to her from time to time and misses her even more. He is extremely heartbroken about how everyone is grieving acutely and traumatized by his death. There is little he can do from outer space. He even left her a voicemail that she will treasure forever. She wishes she could have saved him and is very fortunate to have been given such a wonderful great friend in this life. She will always love him in heaven no matter where he is living.
