In a lush, green forest, a small leaf named Leafy woke up to the morning sun.
Leafy loved the warm sun rays. 'Good morning, Sun!' Leafy cheered.
The sun smiled down. 'Good morning, Leafy! Ready for another day of adventure?'
Leafy nodded excitedly. 'But tell me, Sun, why do I feel stronger when you're around?'
The sun chuckled. 'Let me tell you about the magic within you that I help to wake.'
'You see,' began the sun, 'inside you are tiny factories called chloroplasts that turn my light into food.'
Leafy listened carefully. 'So that's why I change color and grow! It's thanks to these factories!'
'Exactly,' the sun beamed. 'And not just light, you need water and air too, to make the magic happen.'
Just then, a drop of water from the nearby stream whispered, 'I'm part of this too, Leafy!'
Leafy looked surprised. 'So, Sun's light, water, and what else?' Leafy pondered.
The sun pointed to the air. 'The invisible breath of the forest, called carbon dioxide, joins in as well.'
'Together, we all work to create food and release oxygen for everyone to breathe,' said the sun.
