Once in a town, young Liam lay down, but sleep didn't come; he just frowned. He heard giggles and wiggles and a small ticklish sound.
Liam peeked under the bed, finding monsters who said, 'We won't go to sleep, we'll play instead!'
The monsters were bright, with big eyes shining light. 'Why no sleep at night?' asked Liam with might.
One monster, Gruff, said sleep was enough. 'We've played all night, isn't that tough?'
Liam thought and said, 'Playing's fun, but resting your head brings dreams to your bed!'
Monster Glee with eyes like the sea, pondered and asked, 'What dreams could there be?'
Liam told tales of dreams, grand and bright; of flying, adventures and stars at night.
Monsters listened, eyes wide with glee; they imagined these places they'd love to see.
Glee yawned first, then Gruff and the rest; they curled up close, dreaming quest after quest.
With the monsters now still, Liam’s room quiet as night, he snuggled down deep, smiling in delight.
Liam finally slept, the monsters did too; their dreams of fun places seemed so true!
Morning came softly, Liam stirred in his bed; 'Thank you,' he whispered, for the dreams you all spread.
