Little Bear woke up with a grumble. Not a happy grumble like when Mama Bear made yummy honey cakes. This was a grumble deep in his tummy, a grumble that said, "Uh oh!"
He remembered the yummy-looking berries he gobbled down yesterday. They were extra juicy, extra red, but something about them just didn't smell quite right.
Little Bear visited Wise Owl, who hooted, "Berries past their prime can cause a tummy crime!" Little Bear frowned. His tummy rumbled louder.
He went to see Chatty Chipmunk, who squeaked, "Did you wash those berries, my fuzzy friend? Clean food is happy food!"
Little Bear shook his head sadly. He learned his lesson! From now on, he'd sniff carefully, choose wisely, and wash everything well. A happy tummy meant a happy bear!
He went to the market and carefully picked out fresh, bright berries. He gave them a good wash, and his tummy rumbled with joy this time.
