It was a sunny morning. Mariam was ready for her very first day in kindergarten. She wore her blue dress and shiny shoes, feeling a bit jittery but excited.
Mariam's mother packed her lunch with care: a sandwich, an apple, and a note that said, 'Have fun!' Mariam hugged her mom and set off. Her steps went pitter-patter, like little rain drips.
On her way, Mariam met a friendly squirrel. 'Hello!' said the squirrel. 'Are you off to learn and play?' Mariam nodded with a smile, 'I'm starting kindergarten today!'
The school was big and bright. Mariam saw colorful drawings, twinkling stars, and welcoming smiles. 'Wow,' she whispered, 'what a wonderful sight!'
Her teacher, Ms. Bee, buzzed with joy. 'Welcome, Mariam! Let's begin our day.' The classroom hummed with a gentle song, ding-dong, ding-dong.
Mariam found her seat next to a boy named Joe. They shared crayons, red and blue, and drew happy faces too.
They sang songs, 'Twinkle, twinkle, little star'. And played in the yard with a big red car, zoom, zoom, zoom, as bright as Mars.
At snack time, Mariam shared her apple with a girl named Lee. 'Thank you!' said Lee. They giggled with glee under the apple tree.
In arts and crafts, Mariam made a crown, decorating it with stars and a little brown owl. She placed it on her head, feeling like a queen.
As the day came to an end, Ms. Bee gathered the class. 'You did amazing, everyone! Give yourselves a big pat.' The children clapped, as hearts went pitter-pat.
Mariam walked home, her steps still light, knowing tomorrow would be just as bright. She felt ready for more than just tonight.
The sun was setting, and Mariam knew, every new beginning, every step, was a clue. To always be you, shine bright like the morning dew.
