One sunny morning, Max went to the zoo. He was very excited to see the animals.

Max wore his favorite red top and blue jeans. He walked past the tall giraffes munching on leaves.

With a banana in his hand, Max spotted a playful lemur. It had big, curious eyes.

Quick as a flash, the lemur snatched Max's banana and ran off with a mischievous grin.

Max followed the lemur. He walked by the elephant who was spraying water from its trunk.

Next, Max came to the monkey house. 'Have you seen a lemur?' he asked, but the monkeys only chattered.

Max met a kind zookeeper. 'Lemurs like to hide,' she said. 'Try the tropical house.'

In the tropical house, Max saw beautiful birds and butterflies, but no lemur.

Max paused near the sleepy lions. 'Where could that lemur be?' he wondered.

A rustle in the bushes! Max turned to see the lemur offering him a piece of the banana.

Max smiled and accepted. 'Let's be friends,' he said to the lemur, who jumped in joy.

Max left the zoo with a new friend in mind. 'What a great adventure,' he thought.
