Once upon a time, in the streets of London, there was a young boy named Oliver Twist. He was an orphan who lived in a workhouse, where he was treated poorly and had very little to eat. One day, Oliver plucked up the courage to ask the workhouse master for more food, but instead of receiving extra, he was promptly sold as an apprentice to an undertaker.
Life with the undertaker was just as miserable for Oliver. He was constantly hungry and mistreated. One day, after being falsely accused of starting a fight, Oliver ran away to London, where he hoped to find a better life. Tired and hungry, he collapsed on the streets.
A kind-hearted boy named Jack Dawkins, also known as the Artful Dodger, noticed Oliver and offered him a place to stay. Little did Oliver know, he was being taken to a den of child pickpockets led by a sinister character named Fagin. Oliver became part of their gang and was taught how to steal.
However, Oliver's fate took a turn when he was caught trying to steal from a kind gentleman named Mr. Brownlow. Instead of punishing him, Mr. Brownlow showed compassion and took Oliver into his care. Oliver finally found a loving home and a new family.
