In a quiet corner of the night sky, there was a little star named Stella. She twinkled brightly every night. But one night, during a really cool show of shooting stars, Stella tumbled right out of her spot in the sky and landed on Earth with a soft plop.
Stella was scared and missed her sky home. She looked around and saw tall trees, big mountains, and a dark blue sky without her sparkle. A friendly owl hooted, 'Who are you?' 'I'm Stella, and I need to get back to the sky,' she said quietly.
The owl, whose name was Oliver, thought for a moment and said, 'I will help you. The night is full of friends.' They flew together, and soon they met a pack of glowing fireflies. 'We light up the dark, just like you do!' they buzzed.
Oliver and the fireflies made great friends. They played games like hide-and-seek and tag. Stella forgot she was sad and laughed a lot. Then she remembered her journey. 'I have to find my way back up to the night sky,' Stella said. The fireflies promised to help.
The next morning, Stella met someone new. A little girl with a telescope. 'Are you lost?' the girl asked. 'I can see everything in the sky with this.' She let Stella look through her telescope, and Stella saw her star friends far away.
The girl, whose name was Zoe, wanted to help Stella. 'I have an idea!' she exclaimed. They made a big kite shaped like a star. That night, they attached Stella to the kite and ran across a field. Stella felt the wind lift her up!
Up, up Stella went, laughing as the breeze tickled her. She flew higher and higher, until she touched the sky. With a warm hug from the moon, Stella found her spot among her twinkling star friends. 'Goodnight!' she whispered to Earth, promising to light up every night.
