The Brave Bear and the Fickle Friend

In a jolly little village with houses bright, lived Timmy and Tommy, friends day and night. They laughed in the sunlight, danced in the rain, always together, never a strain.

A charming village with bright houses, two kids laughing and dancing under a rainbow

One day, Timmy said, 'Let's go on a quest! To the big bustling city, we must be our best!' So they packed up their bags with snacks and dreams, off they went with giddy gleams.

Two kids happily packing their bags, ready for an adventure, with dreamy smiles and a sunny day

They skipped and they hopped, through meadows so green, humming and singing, a magical scene. But then came the jungle, dark and deep, with shadows that made brave Timmy weep.

Children skipping through a green meadow, transitioning into a dark, dense jungle

‘Don’t worry,’ said Tommy, ‘Stay close by my side, we'll pass this jungle, our fears we’ll collide.’ They ventured on, hearts pounding fast, until they heard a CRASH - aghast!

Two kids holding hands, entering a jungle with looming trees and a sense of mystery, showing both fear and determination on their faces

Out came a bear, big and brown, but Timmy quickly scrambled up a tree, like a clown. Tommy was left, with nowhere to flee, he dropped to the ground, as still as can be.

A big brown bear appearing, one child climbing a tree in a panic, and another lying on the ground pretending to be dead

The bear sniffed around, curious and slow, 'Is he alive?' nobody would know. But Tommy lay still, heart beating loud, the bear sniffed him close, a furry shroud.

An inquisitive bear sniffing a motionless child who is lying on the ground, with the other kid hiding in a tree above

Then the bear lumbered off, into the trees, as if saying, 'No trouble from this, just leaves!' Tommy opened one eye, very sly, then sat up with a heavy sigh.

The bear walking away back into the jungle, one kid cautiously opening an eye and sitting up, feeling relieved

Down came Timmy, from his tree so high, 'What did the bear whisper as he went by?' Tommy stood up, dusting his knees, 'He said something wise, if you please.'

The kid climbing down from a tree, with a curious look, and the other kid standing up and dusting off dirt, looking thoughtful

‘Bear told me, in a growly tone, to beware of friends who leave you alone. In times of trouble, who runs and hides, is not true - just wearing a disguise.’

A child recounting a message with a wise look, the other kid feeling guilty and shameful, set against the jungle background

Timmy felt sad and deeply sorry, 'I'll be your friend, no need to worry. Next time the dangers come our way, together we'll face them, every day.'

One kid apologizing sincerely, while the other kid nodding in acceptance, both with a renewed sense of friendship in a jungle clearing

And so they journeyed, hand in hand, through the jungle vast and grand. Back to the village, safe and sound, now forever friends, so profoundly bound.

The moral, my dears, is oh so clear, true friends are those who remain near. In the face of fears, don't turn to run, for together, life is much more fun!
