In a small, cozy house on Maple Street, Max sat quietly by his window.
Outside, the sun shone and birds chirped, but Max’s forehead was wrinkled with worry.
His best friend Ben had moved away, leaving Max feeling lonely.
His mom noticed his frown and said, 'Let's bake your favorite cookies!'
They measured, mixed, and made shapes with the dough, yet Max's smile was still missing.
After baking, Max and his mom walked to the park, cookies in hand.
At the park, Max saw a girl sitting alone. She looked new and a bit lost.
Max felt a tug in his heart. He remembered how it felt to be new.
With a deep breath, he walked over. 'Would you like a cookie? I'm Max.'
The girl smiled, her eyes lighting up. 'I'm Lily. Thank you, Max!' she said.
As they shared cookies, Max started to feel a warm glow inside.
Max realized that by making someone else happy, he found his smile again.
