Once upon a time, in a cozy village, there lived a kind girl named Ella. She had warm eyes and a smile that could light up the dimmest room. Ella’s days were filled with chores and dreams. She swept the floors and dreamed of dancing. She dusted the shelves and dreamed of singing.
Ella lived with her stepmother and two stepsisters, who were not very kind. They would make fun of Ella’s dreams and give her more work. But Ella never stopped dreaming. 'One day, my dreams will come true,' she said to her little mouse friends.
One sunny morning, a royal messenger arrived with an invitation. The prince was having a grand ball! Everyone in the village was invited. Ella's eyes sparkled with delight. 'I will go to the ball and dance!' she exclaimed.
But her stepmother said, 'You have too much work! And you have nothing to wear!' Ella watched her sisters prepare for the ball. She felt a little tear roll down her cheek as she dreamed of wearing a beautiful dress.
As night fell and her stepsisters left for the ball, Ella sat by the fireplace, her heart heavy. Suddenly, a gentle light filled the room, and a kind, sweet voice said, 'Why do you cry, dear child?' It was a fairy!
'I wanted to go to the ball,' Ella whispered. With a wave of her magical wand, the fairy said, 'Your dreams are important, Ella. Let’s make them come true!' And with that, Ella’s rags turned into a stunning gown.
The fairy touched a pumpkin, and it turned into a splendid carriage. Four mice became four white horses. 'Remember,' said the fairy, 'be back by midnight, for then, the magic will end.' Ella nodded and quickly set off to the ball.
At the ball, Ella was a vision. The prince noticed her immediately and asked for a dance. They twirled and laughed, and Ella felt like her dreams were floating around her, as real as the stars above.
But as the clock struck twelve, Ella remembered the fairy’s words. 'I must go!' she cried and hurried away, leaving one glass slipper on the steps of the palace.
The next day, the prince, holding the glass slipper, went through the village. 'I must find the girl whose foot fits this slipper!' When he arrived at Ella’s home, her stepsisters tried the slipper, but it did not fit.
'May I try the slipper?' Ella asked. Her stepmother and sisters laughed, but the prince nodded. As Ella slipped her foot into the slipper, it fit perfectly! The prince knew he had found his dance partner.
Ella and the prince were married soon after. She never forgot what it felt like to dream by the cinders, but now she knew that dreams could come true. Ella’s kindness filled the palace, and she helped everyone’s dreams flourish.
