Once upon a time, in a lovely green forest, there was a little bird named Benny. Benny had bright blue feathers and loved to wake up early. Every morning, while the sun was just opening its bright eye, Benny would leave his cozy nest to find food.
One day, Benny woke up even earlier than usual. The moon was still shining. He chirped happily and flew down to the ground, looking for the best and juiciest worm to fill his tummy.
While searching, Benny met an owl named Olive who was getting ready to sleep. 'Why are you up so early, Benny?' Olive asked with a yawn. 'The early bird catches the worm!' Benny replied with a smile.
Just then, Benny spotted something wiggling on the ground. It was the biggest worm he had ever seen! He hopped closer, ready for his morning feast.
But as he was about to enjoy his worm, he heard a tiny voice. 'Please don't eat me!' said the worm. Benny looked down and saw that the worm had little round glasses and a tiny hat!
Benny was surprised but decided not to eat his new friend. They talked and laughed, and Benny learned that the worm's name was Wally. Wally was very wise and knew all the secrets of the forest.
Benny and Wally became the best of friends. They decided that every morning they would meet to share stories and explore the forest together. And so, the early bird got so much more than a worm—he got a wonderful friend.
