Once upon a time, in a quaint little village nestled between the hills, lived a boy named Jack. He had big curious eyes and a heart full of adventure.
Beyond the last house where old Mr. Jenkins lived, a narrow path wound into the forest. Jack had always been told to steer clear of it.
One crisp morning, with the sun playing hide-and-seek behind the clouds, Jack's ball bounced away, rolling towards the forbidden path.
He hesitated but his curiosity won. With a quick peek back home, Jack followed the ball into the forest.
The trees loomed above, whispering secrets. Suddenly, the ball disappeared. In its place stood a gate, crafted from intertwining branches and leaves.
As if by magic, the gate opened and Jack could hear laughter and music. He stepped through.
Inside, everything sparkled. Tiny glowing creatures danced around, leading him to a clearing.
In the clearing, children from all over the world played together. No one was alone. They saw Jack and waved him over.
A little girl with pigtails came up to Jack. 'I'm Lily! Every child who wishes for a playmate finds this place. Come, join us!' she exclaimed.
Jack joined in the games and felt as if he had known these children forever. They played until the sun began to set.
Lily handed Jack a small, twinkling stone. 'This is a friendship stone. It will remind you of the friends you've made today.'
As Jack waved goodbye, the gate appeared again. He stepped through and found himself back in the regular forest, clutching the stone.
Back home, he looked at the stone and smiled. Whenever he felt lonely, he would remember his new friends and the magical day they had shared.
