Once upon a time, in a village so small, lived Farmer Fiona, who cared for it all. Four sons she had, a wandering crew, lazy and carefree, with nothing to do.
Farmer Fiona would work every single day, while her sons would find excuses to play. 'Come plant the seeds!' she would constantly plea, but her sons would laugh and wander with glee.
One sunny morning, Fiona felt frail, her steps slower, her face a bit pale. 'My dear sons,' she called them near, 'Hear me out, come lend me your ear.'
'I've buried treasure deep in our land, find it, and riches will be in hand!' But her memory faded, she couldn’t recall, exactly where she’d buried it all.
Excited and thrilled, the sons began to dig, imagining fortunes, so grand and so big! They dug and dug, from dawn until dusk, but found just dirt, no treasures no fuss.
Farmer Fiona's strength faded away, as she watched her sons work day by day. Until one night, the stars did twinkle, she closed her eyes with a soft wrinkle.
With heavy hearts and fields full of holes, the elder brother then took on a role. 'Brothers, look at all we've done, let's plant some seeds, make work fun.'
They planted seeds from dawn until night, tended the fields, made wrong things right. Watered with care, beneath the sun's bright beam, hoping one day, they'd fulfill the dream.
Day after day, the plants grew tall, their efforts rewarded, no hardship at all. Bountiful harvest, they cheered in delight, fields of gold, a beautiful sight.
They sold the grain in the city so funny, came back home with pockets full of money. The brothers then saw, their mother’s wise plan, hard work and care will help any man.
The treasure, they learned, wasn't gold or a gem, but the value of hard work, forever within them. 'Thank you, Mother,' they whispered skyward, a lesson in life forever treasured.
So remember dear readers, both big and small, work hard, be patient, you'll stand tall. Just like the brothers who learned from their chore, treasures of life are worth even more.
