In a sunlit meadow, a shiny object caught Crow's eye. 'Mine!' he squawked.
Crow's caw echoed loudly. Rabbit hopped near. 'What's that?' she asked.
Crow puffed his feathers. 'A treasure! And it's all mine!' he declared.
Rabbit tilted her head. 'Could we share?' she suggested hopefully.
Crow's beak curved in a frown. 'No! Finders, keepers!' he protested.
Rabbit's nose twitched with sadness. 'Sharing is nice, though,' she whispered.
With a flap of his wings, Crow hid the treasure under leaves.
Squirrel scampered down a tree. 'Ooh, what are you hiding?' he asked eagerly.
Grumpy Crow scowled. 'It's mine! You can't have it!' he insisted.
Squirrel frowned helplessly. 'But wouldn't it be nicer to share?'
Crow watched Rabbit and Squirrel leave. He felt strong but lonely.
The sun lowered, and Crow thought. 'Perhaps it is better with friends,' he mused.
