Barnaby was a lamb with a secret. He wasn't like the other lambs who said "Baa!" Barnaby said, "Hee hee hee!"
His laugh was springy and bouncy, like a lamb on a trampoline. "Why do you laugh so much, Barnaby?" asked Flora, a lamb with a fluffy tail.
"Because everything is funny!" Barnaby giggled. He pointed his hoof at a cloud that looked like a fluffy sheep. "Look! A cloud sheep!"
Flora shook her head. "That's just silly, Barnaby." But even Flora had to smile. Barnaby's laugh was contagious.
One sunny day, the lambs were playing in the meadow. They were playing "Chase the Tail," a very serious game for lambs.
Suddenly, Barnaby tripped over his own hooves. "Whoopsie!" he cried, tumbling head over heels. "Hee hee hee!"
"Barnaby!" scolded Ferdinand, a serious lamb with spectacles. "This is a serious game!"
But Barnaby couldn't stop laughing. He laughed so hard that his whole body jiggled like jelly. Even Ferdinand had to crack a smile.
Just then, Farmer John came to the meadow. He was carrying a big, scary bucket. "Uh oh," whispered Flora. "Bath time!"
All the lambs hated bath time. It was cold and wet and definitely not funny. They scattered like cotton balls in the wind.
But Barnaby just kept laughing. "Hee hee hee! A bath? That tickles!" He jumped right into the bucket with a splash.
Farmer John looked surprised. Then, he started to chuckle. Soon, he was laughing along with Barnaby.
From that day on, bath time wasn't so scary anymore. Barnaby had taught everyone, even Farmer John, the power of a good laugh.
