In a small village in ancient China, there lived a young girl named Ling. She loved to hear stories about spirits and magical creatures. One day, her grandmother gave her a beautiful lantern. 'This is a magic lantern,' her grandmother said. 'If you light it with a special incense stick, you can make a wish.'
Excited, Ling wanted to try it right away. She lit the incense stick and placed it inside the lantern. Suddenly, a gentle breeze blew, and the lantern started floating in the air. Ling held on tight as she went on an incredible adventure through the night sky.
The lantern landed in a mystical forest filled with talking animals and beautiful flowers. Ling saw a group of rabbits playing nearby. She approached them and asked if they knew where she could find a magical spirit.
The rabbits told Ling about a kind-hearted spirit called Xiao Jing. They said that Xiao Jing lived at the top of a mountain, guarded by a ferocious tiger. Determined to meet the spirit, Ling climbed and climbed until she reached the mountaintop.
When Ling arrived at the summit, she saw the majestic tiger guarding a cave. She approached slowly, showing no fear. The tiger sniffed her cautiously and then allowed her to enter. Inside, Ling found Xiao Jing, a beautiful spirit with wings. Ling made her wish and asked for the power to heal any sick person.
With her wish granted, Ling thanked Xiao Jing and flew back home on her lantern. The villagers were amazed when they saw Ling healing the sick with just a touch. Ling became a hero in her village, using her newfound power to bring happiness and health to everyone.
But Ling soon realized that healing people wasn't enough. She wanted to bring joy to their lives as well. So, she used her lantern to light up the night sky, creating a beautiful display of colors and patterns. People gathered to watch and felt a sense of wonder and happiness.
As years went by, Ling continued to bring light and joy to her village. She grew old, but her spirit remained strong. When she passed away, the villagers honored her by planting lotus flowers around her grave. They believed that the lotus flowers would guide her spirit to eternal happiness.
