Once upon a time, in a cozy little house surrounded by sunflowers, there was a boy named James. He had dark hair and dark eyes, and his smile could light up the whole town.
James loved playing with his fluffy dog, Max. Together, they would run around the garden, laughing and barking under the golden sun.
Everyone in town knew James. When he was good, he was very, very good. He helped his friends and shared his toys.
One sunny morning, James found a lost kitten. He gently took her home and made a warm bed, showing kindness.
But there were days when James was not so good. On such days, his frown was deep and his voice loud.
One such day, James didn't want to share his toys. 'Mine!' he yelled, and his friends felt sad.
His mother sat down with him. 'James, how do you think your friends feel?' she asked, hoping to teach empathy.
James thought for a moment. 'Maybe they feel sad,' he said quietly, starting to understand.
The next time James played with his friends, he remembered his mother's words and shared his favorite red ball.
His friends cheered, 'Hooray for James!' They were so happy, and James felt a warm glow inside.
James learned that being good felt wonderful. But he also knew that everyone has bad days, and that's okay.
With a hug from his mother and a lick from Max, James knew that he was loved, no matter what.
