Once upon a time, in the heart of Venice, a beautiful mask was carefully painted with bright blues and gold.
The mask was excited for its very first Carnival. 'I wonder who will wear me,' it thought with a flutter.
A young boy named Marco admired the mask in the window. His eyes shone with the same blue as the mask.
Marco saved his coins, and at last, he could take the mask to the Carnival. They were a perfect pair.
At Carnival, the mask and Marco danced in the streets, surrounded by music and laughter all around.
Their favorite was the puppet show, where stories came alive. The mask felt part of the magic.
Under the moonlight, they watched the gondolas glide on the glittering water, sharing secrets and smiles.
But as the night grew late, a gust of wind whisked the mask away from Marco, into the crowded square.
The mask was passed from one person to another, each sharing their own joy of the Carnival.
Marco searched everywhere, his heart sank. 'Where can my mask be?' he worried, looking around.
Finally, a kind lady saw his tears and returned the mask. 'It wanted to find you too,' she said.
With a cheer, Marco hugged his mask. 'You're more than paint and gold; you're my Carnival friend!' he exclaimed.
