Tom held his mother's hand tightly as they approached the big, red doors of his new school.

Inside, his bright classroom was filled with colorful pictures and a smiling teacher.

The teacher welcomed Tom and showed him where to hang his backpack.

Tom found a seat at a round table with other kids who were talking and laughing.

The teacher started class by reading a story about sharing and helping friends.

Tom listened closely and looked at the pictures, waiting for his turn to speak.

When playtime came, Tom wanted to use the blue truck but another boy had it.

He watched and waited until the boy put the truck down, then he picked it up to play.

Later, it was time to line up for lunch. Tom was last, but he didn’t mind.

In the cafeteria, Tom tried a new fruit. It was a little sour, so he ate it slowly.

After lunch, the teacher asked the children to clean up. Tom helped without being asked.

At the end of the day, Tom waved goodbye to his teacher and friends. He couldn't wait to come back.
