Tornado Boy was not always a hero. He used to be in trouble and never listened. He didn't care about others' feelings.
He was put in time out for refusing to take out the trash, leaving him feeling sad and alone.
While in time out, Tornado Boy remembered going to church and hearing about Jesus.
In church, he learned he could talk to Jesus, but he was skeptical about prayer having any real power.
Then, one day, Tornado Boy lost track of time playing outside, and night began to fall.
He looked around and couldn't recognize anything. Nowhere was familiar anymore.
Fear gripped him as he remembered his mother's warnings about going off their street.
In his fright, he remembered the pastor's words about praying for help in times of need.
With a little bit of hope, he closed his eyes and whispered a prayer, asking for help.
As he opened his eyes, he noticed a flashlight beam in the distance, steadily approaching.
It was his mother, who had been searching for him, worry etched on her face.
Tornado Boy embraced his mother and promised to listen more. He felt a change within himself.
