Ferdinand the frog was a friendly fellow, but he was also a forgetful fella! He lived on a farm with the funniest bunch of friends you ever did see.
There was Henrietta the Hen, who clucked and chuckled all day long. "Cluck, cluck, cluck!" she'd say, "What a wonderful day for laying an egg... or two... or ten!"
"Moo-llo there, Ferdinand!" bellowed Bartholomew the Bull, his voice booming across the barnyard. Bartholomew was big and strong, but he was a gentle giant, really.
Penelope the Pig, with her curly tail and her snorty snout, was always rooting around for a tasty treat. "Oink, oink!" she'd squeal, "Has anyone seen my apple pie?"
Ferdinand loved his friends dearly, but sometimes their names slipped his mind. He'd try to remember who was who, but he'd get all mixed up.
"Now, who was that who clucked and chuckled?" he'd wonder. "And who was that with the booming moo-llo?"
One sunny morning, Ferdinand decided to make a chart. "This will help me remember all my friends!" he croaked happily.
He drew a picture of Henrietta the Hen next to the word "cluck." He drew Bartholomew the Bull next to the word "moo."
And he drew Penelope the Pig next to the word "oink." Ferdinand was so proud of his chart. "Now I'll never forget who's who!" he exclaimed.
From that day on, whenever Ferdinand forgot a friend's name, he'd just look at his handy-dandy picture chart.
"Cluck, cluck, cluck!" "Ah, yes!" Ferdinand would say. "That's my dear friend, Henrietta the Hen!"
Ferdinand's friends thought his chart was pretty funny, but they were glad he could remember them all. After all, what's better than a farm full of friends?
