Under the warm sun, lay Clam and Snipe, in a seabed sand so ripe.
The clam loved to bask and bathe, but the snipe had a beak to engrave.
With a peck, and a tap, and a poke so slight, the snipe tickled Clam late at night!
Clam gave a snap and closed Snipe's beak, making Snipe squeak, ‘Ah, what a sneak!’
‘Don't you see, if there's no rain,’ said Snipe, ‘all the snails will feel the pain!’
‘Hey Snipe,’ Clam said in a tone so grand, ‘remove your beak, or in a pinch, you’ll land!’
They did not budge, they did not move, stuck in their spot, with much to prove.
A fisherman came with a net so wide, ‘What have we here, let’s not let them hide!’
‘Oh no,’ cried Clam and Snipe in a fright, ‘Caught in a net, it just isn’t right!’
‘Let's make a pact, with a snap and a peck, we must escape, so let’s not be reckless!’
With a quick snap and a final peck, they both broke free from that net’s hold and deck.
From that day on, as the sun shined and swirled, Clam and Snipe were friends, changing their world!
