Whimsy Willow woke up to a sunny, shiny day. She stretched her wings and wiggled her toes. Today was a day to find a new friend!
She fluttered through the forest, where flowers swayed and sung in the morning breeze. 'A friend I will find, oh yes indeed,' she hummed merrily.
Whimsy Willow met a bouncy bunny named Benny. He was hopping here, there, and everywhere! 'Hi Benny, would you like to be my friend?'
'Hello, Willow! I'd love to be your friend, but I'm so busy bouncing!' he replied before hopping away with a BOING-BOING-BOING.
Next, Whimsy Willow found a chattery chipmunk named Charlie. 'Hello, Charlie! Will you be my friend?'
'Oh Willow, I would, but I have so many acorns to gather!' And off he scurried with a rustle and a scuttle.
Whimsy Willow fluttered onward until she found a sluggish snail named Sally. 'Hey Sally, want to be friends?'
'I’d love to be friends, dear Willow. Could you keep me company while I crawl?' Sally said in her slow, sweet tone.
Together, they explored the nooks and crannies of the forest. Whimsy Willow flew while Sally slithered, both chattering all the while.
They met back with Benny and Charlie, who now had time to join their fun. 'Friends are so wonderful when shared!' Whimsy Willow cheered.
They decided to have a picnic under the tallest tree. They shared stories, laughed, and became the best of friends.
Whimsy Willow realized that finding friends takes patience and time. And sometimes, the best friends are the ones you least expect.
