Today at school, Teacher Lynn had a surprise. 'We'll plant a garden!' she said with bright eyes.
The children cheered, lined up in a row. They grabbed tiny shovels and were ready to go.
Sam found a spot and dug a small hole. He placed in a seed, his goal a big tomato.
Mia chose carrots, her favorite snack. She planted them neatly, in the soil out back.
Each day they would water their plants in a line. They hoped for sunshine and some rain would be fine.
Leaves began sprouting, green and so small. The plants were growing; they weren't tall at all.

Teacher Lynn noticed and knelt to see. 'Needs more water,' she said, 'trust me.'
With extra care, the plant changed its hue. From yellow to green, with tomatoes a few!
Harvest day came; kids with baskets ran. They picked the veggies as fast as they can.
They learned to work hard and help each other out. With teamwork and patience, they all had no doubt.
The bell rang loudly, day's end was here. 'Great job,' said Teacher Lynn, 'give yourselves a cheer!'
